Magic is mainly a visual medium. But its the words that often make a good performance great.
When writing dialog, every line should be crafted to enhance the presentation and enrich the style of performing that sets the magician apart. That's where I come in:

Doug Bennett was born in Salt Lake City, Utah where he took an early interest in both science and magic. This combination worked out well at Washington State University, where Doug put himself through pharmacy school by performing magic shows. Relocating to Southern California, Doug continued to pursue careers in both Pharmacy and Magic, often performing at the famed Magic Castle in Hollywood. There he met the world famous magician Doug Henning who, impressed with Dougs originality, asked him to design and script new magical effects for an upcoming NBC television special. Doug also created the magic and wrote the dialog for several of Hennings appearances on The Tonight Show, starring Johnny Carson.
Over the years, Doug Bennett has worked with many of the worlds greatest magicians, including Mark Wilson, Harry Blackstone Jr., Siegfried and Roy and, last but not least, David Copperfield, for whom Doug has worked as a writer/magic consultant for stage and television over the last 25 years. Doug has also lectured and performed his original creations for magicians all over the world and was nominated Lecturer of the Year by The Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood.
As The Magic Writer, Doug is currently offering his services as a writer and creative consultant to magicians who are serious about their craft and share his passion to elevate the art of magic, one routine at a time.
Doug and his wife Lea currently reside in San Diego. Together they have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. With a love for the magic of the great outdoors, Doug spends his spare time trying to master the fine art of dry fly fishing, which proves that even for a magician, some things are impossible.
